Our Mission

We raise awareness about the environmental impact of banks and empower students with the knowledge to evaluate their banking choices. We run campaigns, workshops, and advocate for sustainability banking through our local chapters.

Our goal is simple. Change the future of banking.

As students move away from environmentally harmful banks, those banks will need to stop funding fossil fuels to avoid losing their future customer base. Their choice is clear: adapt or become irrelevant.

Similarly, universities feel pressure to align their banking practices with the values of their students, turning millions in investments away from fossil fuels.

The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.

Our Roots

The campaign was started by a group of UCL students concerned about the climate crisis and the lack of sustainability action at UCL and beyond.

They founded UCL’s Sustainability Council, working with the Students’ Union to address the often-overlooked role of banks in climate change. The campaign quickly grew beyond the confines of the university through the newly founded UK Student Sustainability Council and now aims to maximize its impact across institutions.
